Remington made one! Many years ago, I took a police armorer's course for the 870, the instructor said factory engineers were messing around with the Nylon 66 and found the rate of fire in full auto was faster than anything in Uncle Sam's inventory. They adapted it to belt fed and clustered 4 of them (Can't remember for sure how many, maybe 6) together, thinking it would make an army anti-ambush gun. Pulling the belt slowed it down some, and it wasn't really practical anyway, so the idea faded away.....Woof!

Makes me want an American 180.

Tactical Innovations is working in one for a M-16 but it needs to be open bolt.

Too bad they donít make it for a Mac 11 which is already open bolt.

When I was a kid I had a Rem 66 that would go full auto if you held it on its side with the ejection port facing down. When it went full auto you could not hear the individual shots. It just made a baang and there were 12 empties at your feet. At that time Remington would sell individual parts so I got a new sear and replaced it. It would be interesting to know what the cycle rate was, it had to be incredible.
Ps. It shows the lack of fear for a 16 year old to disassemble a mod 66.

Memory tells me it was one thousand six hundred and someodd rounds a minute - wouldn't swear to it, though. Sure and certainly empty that little old tube quick.

dont know about open/closed bolt, but they made an upper for the AR. iirc it called the Razorback. They made a stand alone rifles with the same name and then came out with the AR upper.

It all looks like some short term fun. If your'e a kid I guess that would be long term fun. I wonder at what point the barrel becomes hot enough for leading to begin?
