Hello all,

Just picked up this Mauser Trainer .22 single shot and know nothing about it. Can anyone tell me the model number and maybe the year of manufacture. It is in really nice shape and shoots great. Sorry for the lousy cell phone photos but that's all I had handy at the time.
Thanks for any and all help.

DSM34

Made from the mid-1930's to the early 1940's by a number of different German gunmakers, so some are a lot more rare than others. Mauser made the lion's share of them, so they are the most commonly encountered.

It is refered to as a DSM 34. It has the correct sling onit. That is a plus. The rod in the front is a stacking rod, not a cleaning rod. Don't remove it. Stop by the trainer forum with more pics. We like to see these pieces of history there

DSM 34, the gas port, oval loading port and Deutsches Sportmodell mark´s position indicate a 1936 model made from 1936 to 1943 (BUG proof mark till 1939, eagle proof mark later)
