acetech09 - that sound you hear is the snap, crackle and pop of my keyboard shorting out from drooling on it... what a superb looking rifle!

Max, that is a very nice looking gun. I really like the SA sporter stocks.

Here's a '58ish vintage Junior Varminteer that I picked up last year. Built on an early 64 action, I really like its classic sporter look.

BTW, I have since mounted a much better scope, I just threw this one on for a first quick range trip.

Best regards,

I got this rifle recently and refinished the stock. I haven't been able to get outdoors with it yet and the lighting indoors isn't the best. In a few weeks I should be able to try it out.

That's a great looking rifle. Is it a 1613 or an 1813?

With a '79 proof it should be a 1613. 1600 production, or at least finishing/proofing continued until 1980, when the 1800s started.

There are a few 1600/1800 left-hand hybrids, with a 1600 action barrel, but an 1800 bolt and trigger.
