S &P has the newer TD case $50, a little pricey imho. I have the original TD case, and the magpul stock with a red dot fits just fine.

I was starting to regret buying a TD as my first 10/22. I changed out the barrel and stock with TacSol + Hogue. I didn’t like how low the iron sights were on the TacSol, so I tried different optics. Red dot never gave me the accuracy I wanted, and a scope seemed just wrong to me on this platform. So I ended up stripping down to the receiver. Sold off the stock, barrel and optics. Bought the Magpul Backpacker stock and Ruger threaded barrel on sale. Then got Tech Sights. WOW!!! I love this rifle now. Tackdriver at 50 yards with no adjustments. This is what a TD is supposed to be. I can’t recommend Tech Sights enough!

Yes, you need to remove the dovetail front sight. You then mount the rear sight on the receiver

X-22 Backpacker stock for Takedowns

New X-22 BP user here. I bought the Davidson's exclusive with the extra mags. Only mod so far is the BX trigger and a DIY bolt release. Trying to keep the rifle streamlined in keeping with the BOB/Get Home nature of my purpose. So no optics, and avoiding extended mags.

50rd box of ammo, spare mag, lighter, dryer lint, sight screwdriver and cleaning patches in the main compartment

Boresnake, pen and 1/8" hex bit in the pistol grip.

10 rds, two razor blades and Super Glue under the butt pad (that's what the 1/8" bit is for).

All in a Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon II bag with a change of clothes, FAK, another box of ammo, food, water and a MT. It lives in my car trunk.

Yeah an unlikely fantastical scenario but it's a fun brain and collecting exercise.
