Thanks folks. Hard work seems to be paying off, even if it's a slow pace.

Many of you know that Silhouette is my main game and I've been working hard to get better at it. This match is actually much better at telling you just how much you're getting better (or not) versus the "hit or miss" world of Silhouette.

Get out there and shoot your best!

*** 25 yard IRON SIGHTS ENTRY - 7/05/19 ***
SCORE: 461 - 8x
NAME: Eric2U (62)
LOCATION: Bayou Rifles, west Houston
GUN: Kimber 82G
GUN SET-UP: _Scope, _x_ Iron Sights, _Sling (3.2 mm on adj. Centra front sight)
AMMO: CCI SV
INDIV. TARGETS: 96-3x, 94-1x, 91-1x, 90-1x, 90-2x

Comment - started on a good streak then reverted on the last 3 bulls. Trying a stash of some CCI SV - will see how that goes.

Hey Allen - another impressive set of targets. You set the bar pretty high!

Been shooting the little Glenfield again this month, seems I was doing worse every try.
Yesterday I shot a 399-0x with it. I will not post the ugly details of that round.

Then today I learned (re-learned ?) a valuable lesson with it - always do a benched sight-check before starting a set and if something seems WAY off, it probably is. Also remember the gun will shoot more consistently if both front & rear scope ring mounts are touching the receiver, preferably firmly clamped to it.
My front ring mount was hanging in the air a good 1/2" forward of the rcvr…

Here's today's effort, a little better this time, tight scope must have helped:

** 25 Yd SCOPED **** 7/22/19
SCORE: 439-3X
NAME: Bob4BVM, 69
LOCATION: Oregon
GUN: Glenfield 25 Custom
SIGHTS: Scope @ 12X
AMMO: Aguila SESV
INDIV TGTS SCORES: 92-0X, 86-0X, 87-2X, 85-1X, 89-0X

Cheers
Bob

Thanks Bob. I'm still chasing that first perfect 25 yard bull. I agree that the 50 yard is much more difficult to get. On this day Lady Luck must have felt some pity for me.

Hey Cowboy, where did you get those targets? They seem like a smart way to go for 25 yards with a lot less wasted paper.

I believe I purchased these from Midway.
The paper is lighter stock than target grade paper, but heavier than office/printer paper. They’re heavy enough to give a reasonably good hole to evaluate and score.
They don’t come with the outside “in the white” scoring rings. Everything else is the same.
Designed to be a cheap practice target for smallbore 3-P/Prone. Great for this game.
