Food Security meeting was a great success. Lots of new people as well as the originals. Great ideas and volunteers.

Been watching Country Music on PBS. Finished the last half of last nights' show. Finished tonight's at 11:45. It was mainly Hank Williams and Patsy Cline. Some Johnny Cash and June Carter. Patsy Cline recorded Crazy. After her death [plane crash] became the number 1 juke box hit of all time. BTW: written by Willie Nelson.

Hey guys, I'm not building the big tire tumbler, just thought I would put it out there.

However, has anyone here used one of the cement mixers to tumble brass? I have heard it works, but the internal paddles may beat the brass up and that they are noisy. If used for bigger heavier parts, it beats the drum up. and is even noisier.

I don't know how many here watch America's Got Talent or not, but my wife and I have been following it closely this year. There was a 22 year old young man named Kodi Lee who is autistic and blind who has been competing. We have a nephew who is autistic, so naturally we were drawn to this young man. It is amazing the talent God has given him. Kodi went on in the competition and ended up winning yesterday evening.

I thought that I would share his first audition here for those who might be interested, but have never watched the show. It was by far the best season for us.

No one needs one of these except the military, and certain city police departments, and we need to ban them now and start confiscating them before the next preventable mass psychological tragedy.

Its a cord launching device for attaching a stronger rope for salvaging peeps. I read about the demo held at the USCG station this summer but never saw any tv vids or paper pix. pfft!

I didn't know they made ceement mixers that small. I coulda made my initials in ceement everywhere instead of just the house driveway, seawall and the fish shack garage floor.

No wabbits at first shooting light this a.m. but the handy guy said he has several @ his resort 483.72 yds to the N, give or take 50yds by dead reckoning.

Leaves are 25-50% turned @ 61˚. Time to flip over this fishing page in my annals.

Two feet of rain, and counting in East Texas/West Louisiana.

Time to call up the Cajun Navy.

On a barrel type cement mixer the blades / paddles are fastened to the inside of the barrel and the entire barrel rotates. I don't think it would do damage to brass if enough aggregate was added.

A mortar / plaster mixer is a stationary bucket and the paddles rotate inside. It would chew brass as fast as you could put it in, particularly if the rubber on the paddles was worn which most are.

I my memory is correct, the government wanted a vehicle that would be classified as General Purpose, Hence GP. Which then got slanged as Jeep.

I never really liked that song. There was a gal we worked with that loved it. Every time we went out for scary-oke she would cue that one up. Bad enough with Patsy, absolutely nails on chalkboard with her.

Side story... she was a late addition to the team and because she was so quiet never really wiggled into her spot, so to speak. She got siphoned off for something and was gone for a couple of weeks. Just before she came back we used baby powder to give her space that "dusty" look and strung some Halloween decoration spider web stuff all over every thing. When she came back she cleaned it all up without saying a word. I thought perhaps we had gone too far and missed the mark and felt a little bad about it but she later said that it was at that moment that she truly felt like part of the team. You would have thought she would have at least smiled or done some yelling, eh?
