I have the opportunitiy to buy a Browning A bolt Gold Medallion 22. Made in japan of course. What can I expect to pay for one in excellent condition? And What kind of accuracy can I expect from one?
I know nothing about the Brownings.
Thanks, John

Accuracy? Depends on your expectations... If you're looking for something to shoot of the bench at 50M/100M, there are better options out there.

Mine is minute of squirrel accurate. I love the full-size feeling of the rifle.

Look at the bore very carefully. Back in the day my pretty little A-Bolt 22 came from the factory with a "corn cobb" bore finish. Needless to say it wasn't very accurate.

Never owned an A Bolt .22 but have always been a Browning fan. At the least,Brownings are pretty guns.I've owned a bunch, but not this one.
Over the years, my sense has been that they are nickel, perhaps even quarter shooters, at 50 yards.
Personally, I want a gun that can do dimes.

I wished I'd taken a picture... but there's a guy in the New-England with a re-barreled A-Bolt 22lr, it looked kind of nice with a 18'' bull.

If I had more $ than brain (and it was legal to do so in my part of the wood). It would get the "quiet" treatment

Mine is fairly accurate easy nickel or smaller groups at 50. It likes CCI sgb I bought it well for 675 with 2 spare mags. Found it the front lug has been bedded. I haven't been able to get it out for a real test but it shoots good off the bed of the truck.
