882 SS

Just picked up an 882 SS from a local trader board. The deal just kept getting better and better as he kept handing over ammo - 3 boxes of CCI and a box of Winchester Dynapoints. No sights on the rifle, but it does have (just nearly the cheapest available) Bushnell 3-9x40 on it. It will sit nicely next to my 883 LTD. Pics later.

Pictures!!!

As promised. The 882 SS is a 2002 production, while the 883 LTD is a 1990 rifle. Both JM, and functionally both much the same. Each has a different feel, though, as the black enameled wood stock of the 883 is heavier and more slippery than the plastic 882 SS stock. I may put the 882 SS in wood - don't know yet. I may just leave it. I do have a 925 with a FDL stock on it... Might look good in stainless...

Looks like you did good. Marlin makes really decent rimfires.

I got rid of el cheapo Bushnell and pulled a scope off the shelf to put on it. It's the biggest, most obnoxious Tasco 6-24x50A0E that I could possibly have found, with a very nice bright silver finish which matches the stainless 882 very well! I haven't set up to sight it in yet, but I'm sure I will be able to count the astronauts' footsteps on the moon with it once I do (and calculate the distances with the awesome ballistic ladder reticle!) (LOL!)
