Did we really need a study to confirm it?

"It is likely that all cats have an element of psychopathy as it would have once been helpful for their ancestors in terms of acquiring resources, for example food, territory and mating opportunities."

Well there was some grant money well spent

Next up, "Do bears prefer to defecate in arboreal habitats?"

In that same vein, “Is the head of the largest branch of Christianity also an adherent of that branch?”

Al,

Do you think a grant of $20 million, is enough for a study of “Are fish afraid of the new red fishing pole and reel”, or is this a $30 million study….

I've had several cats that were well-adjusted and I've also had a couple of psychos.

My current cat is, however, an uber psycho.

He's a ginger tabby male, sort of orange in color.......and he came from parents that were feral for a few generations.

He's constantly alert for signs of danger and vanishes at any unusual sound or activity that indicates strangers may be coming.

For years, he pretty much hid from us.

My wife feeds him, so he's become friendly enough with her to jump up in her lap and be petted.........but he has a sense of when she's going to take him to the vet, and hides.......so we have to trap him to get him to the vet.

After nine years he will allow me to pet him.......a little.

He is mostly nocturnal and we rarely see an insect of any kind in our house because he catches and eats them.

He gets along fine with our small dog.......go figure. I guess he needs a friend.

In general, though.......he shows that he has very close wild ancestors that were full of that psychopathy that helped them survive.

We have an inside cat and every nite about 8 o'clock she goes into Psycho mode running all around the house. I always attributed it to instinct and moving into hunting mode. We have had 3 cats at different times and they all did the same thing. Lasts for about 20 minutes.
