Dave, yes you can use a rimfire pistol/revolver to hunt squirrels unless things have changed. Squacks has shot squirrels with a revolver down there and DJ shot one with a revolver causing me to be abandonded in the rain, but that's a different story and I think that Patience has hunted with some sort of a 22 handgun down there.

Spent the weekend down at Pine Hills just relaxing. Saw several squirrels while I was there. Mosquitoes and Gnats were HORRIBLE. Deet and Picaridin handled the mosquitoes, but the only relief from the Gnats was sitting next to the campfire.

Reb, Tell DJ congratulations and give his new bride my sympathy on several levels, I hope you let go of some of the moldy money you hang on to and got them a set of matching Coopers or the like as a wedding gift.

Buy a Thermacell: https://www.thermacell.com/

It is a simple matter to remove the check valve from the butane cartridges so that they can be refilled from a standard canister of cigarette lighter butane.

I've always used ARS MAT 12 pads from Thailand in mine because they are much cheaper than the Thermacell branded pads. They have the same active ingredient; Allethrin. A quick Ebay check shows they're not near as plentiful as they were. https://www.ebay.com/itm/120-Pcs-Mat...AAAOSw-jxc5IBU

There is a similar Raid branded product. It uses Transfluthrin as the active ingredient. I have no experience with how this chemical/product performs. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1set-Raid-S...UAAOSw-29ZWxM~

Some folks try to recharge the Thermacell pads with Permethrin but Permethrin doesn't vaporize worth spit which is why Thermacell uses Allethrin instead.

Congratulations to DJ from me, Reb. He's turned out pretty well, don't you think?

Takes after his Momma perhaps.

The boy is cursed to be a lot like his old man. I hope his new job and wife will allow him to come to Shawnee this year.

Unbelievable, !! Doc, I was at Pinehills that Saturday! Across the road from ya!
I mentioned to Dylan, someone had your spot. You had a hammock hanging for a bit?? We had been backpacking around Garden of Gods... stopped at Pinehills for an overniter on our travels home. I THOUGHT that beard looked familiar?? !!!

PS we were in the 3 one man packing tents!

Bugz were Ruff!!!!

Should of came over and said howdy, I didn't realize it was you guys. AS for the hammock, I think that's going to become my preferred camping method, a lot lighter and a lot more simple.
