I need a new gun. I did get a dandy centerfire the other day. It is a Left-handed Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle in 308. The more I mess with it, the better I like it. Now I just need a bunch of 308 ammo and a good scope for it. I see someone makes subsonic 308 ammo. Hey Sarge and Crowfeather, yall think a 308 would be enough gun for Scurius Horilibus at Shawnee?

You might have to use the heavier bullets, Reb.

Tax money. Just like the rest of America. One of the best things about having a dependent child.

Well..the turkey season hasn't even got here yet and you folks are rushing the squirrel season in!
I know some of you have spring seasons so it won't be too long.
I am looking forward to Shawnee this year as well. I want to see if David learned any tunes on that harp I gave him.
I have a few turkey hunts in the works and can't wait to go sit in the sun someplace and nod off. A turkey gobblin around someplace would be welcome... but a distraction...
I plan on seeing ole Bolt next month. I am going to feed him Fried bluegill and taters till he pops! lol.
He'll be wanting Pokeweed but that stuff is DANGEROUS.
Mike Moran And I turkey hunted down in Shawnee one time. Ole Bolt came into camp while we were out hunting and had lunch ready when we came in. I don't remember what all he made but I do REMEMBER there was a big frypan full of poke greens.
Mike seemed to enjoy those poke greens. I knew he was enjoying it even more in the night. He was sleeping in the back of his truck and He kept waking me up all night when that tailgate would drop. Those poke greens got to workin on him.
Mike said he could squirt through a keyhole at 10 feet and never touch the sides....
Luck!

I got to tell you Squacks, it is going to take a bunch of bluegill and fried taters to pop old Bolt. He has long years of experience and I believe is hollow down both legs.

Talking I think I'm in!!!

Howdy Folks,
Looks like Ol' MO may be able to make this hunt this fall. I haven't been able to make it in the past, as we normally have Folks down visiting the week of the hunt. I spoke with our Friends, and looks like they are not going to be coming in until October this year. I read EVERY post leading up to, and then after the hunts, and I'm really excited to get there this year, and meet some new Folks.

Shawnee is less than 2 hours from my place, so it certainly is an easy enough lift for me to get there.

I haven't "camped out" in about 25 years, but I'm up for the challenge. I'm sure I will have some questions so I am sure I am properly prepared.
