Question Match 64 Bolt Service Kit - Is it needed?

Log in to see fewer ads
I recently acquired a Match 64 that was manufactured in 1973. I have noticed on the Anschutz North American website a Match 64 Bolt Service Kit. It appears the the Hammer and Firing Pin contact areas have changed in design as well as the addition of a firing pin return spring. Other items may have changed as well but those were obvious. My question is should I upgrade the bolt with this service kit? I have only had this to the range once where I put approximately 150 round through it without issue. What was the reason for the upgrade kit? Was it to correct or prevent an issue?

Thanks in advance.

You'll most likely never need parts for it.
That said, once Anschutz drops a product line, as they have now done with all 64 action guns, it's not that many years later until there is no parts availability.
I'd probably stash the parts away.

Camsters advice is very wise. I can only recommend to get a few common spare parts before they disappear from the market, like extractor, cartridge holder and the spring, firing pin etc.
