Which aftermarket barrel for Precision 445/457 build?

So I'm thinking of building a custom 457. Something in a chassis and with an aftermarket barrel and trigger. (Not that any of this is necessary :-) ). I see Lothar Walther, IBI and Lilja offerings but there may be others. What is the communi
ties experience with any of these barrels? Is one a clear winner over the other?

I really think you should use the CZ barrel on the gun. Hard to improve on it.

I've been pondering the same thing since my 457 came with the worst test target I've seen. Lol. And my 452 seems to outshoot the 457 at 100 yds+, I need to do some more testing.

Acculite and Bartlein also make drop ins.

Lilja has the headspacing shims where the others do not. But there appears to be a way to reduce headspacing on the 457 bolt. I have shims coming to experiment.

Check out "Pursuit of Accuracy" on Youtube and his set up for his 457 match rifle, he uses a Lilja and varies the shims with the ammo he's shooting, some impressive accuracy.

Let's see -- a Bartlein barrel at $550. Hmmm... that's more than I paid for my 457 Lux, the whole rifle. Lilja is at $450 (NOT threaded), IBI is at $434 (if threaded). At least the Lothar Walther is in the $300 range. And the CZ 457 MTR barrel (threaded and actually in stock ) goes for $299. Can the 457 American stock barrel channel be opened up to accept an MTR barrel, i.e., is there enough wood? Or is Varmint stock required? (I'm leaning toward the MTR barrel.)

I'm happy with the Lothar Walther .17m2 18 inch threaded on my 457 Synthetic, scope choice has made it a brick but it sure shoots. I have a 455 Varmint sporting a Lilja front DJ's group buy and glued in by my gunsmith which does very well. I figure ammunition costs will out strip the cost of the barrels in short order.

IBI threaded barrels with thread protector can be had from Brownells for $315. Backorder at the moment. This is 6x5 (good with the bad)-CZ 457 action, IBI barrel, Pro Varmint stock, SK Rifle match, stock trigger at 2+ lbs., 50 yards. Center-X is comparable. My MTR is barely MOA

Great input! So you folks using the IBI, do you think your accuracy is improved over the MTR barrel you replaced? Those are some nice looking groups BTW
