Options for anschutz 6834 globe

Log in to see fewer ads
Hey all,

I'm totally new to higher end peep sights.

I have a Anschutz 6834 sight set, and would like to know what is compatible with it in the way of inserts and magnification for the front globe.

Will any M18 accessory work? Would for example, a Centra Eagle Eye fit? That's the only magnification option I have found so far.

I'd like to have some metal post inserts to use as well, but all I can find are the plastic inserts.

Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!

If you have the 6834 set, it has the 18mm front sight.

The following is a link to front sight inserts and adjustable iris options. If you want a post front sight, you will be relegated to just metal inserts. If you are shooting competitively, I highly recommend using the round apertures as it is significantly easier to center the target and is less stressful on your eyes.

Hope this helps.

I think for the metal inserts you will have to use this front globe sight:

There are metal inserts from other manufacturers that will fit this also.

Thanks for the reply!

So If I run either of those front globes, can I use that Eagle magnification lens?

Thanks!

For metal post inserts, you're best off searching on eBay. Post inserts fell out of favour in small-bore shooting decades ago, almost everyone uses a ring foresight: plastic, metal, glass, or an adjustable iris-type. US suppliers might still carry post elements if there is demand, say from high-power shooters.

The foresight from a 6834 set should be tgreadedcat both ends to accept an Eagle eye, or an iris, or a spirit level (or all three at once). In recent years Anschutz switched to a tunnel made by Centra. These do not accept metal elements. Centra do make a metal/glass post insert; it's not cheap though.

Magnification options are limited to 0.5 and 0.3 (really 0.25) Eagle eye lenses. International (I.e Olympic Games) rules don't allow any magnification. Domestic rules often do, but quite simple, really just to even up eyesight; these are usually separate competitions for telescopic sights, regardless of whether it's 4X or 40X.
