Does the Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Lite use the same grip panels as the 1911 does?

Can I use regular 1911 grips on a Mark IV 22/45 Lite?

No. You have to use MK IV grip panels only. MK III panels will not fit. There are several grip manufacturers out ther that a web search will show. I used LOK Grips on my MK IV 22/45.

Thanks, is this just because of the safety & slide lock clearance or is there other fit issues?

Some have reported that just a little bit of dremel work is needed. Yes, slide release and thumb safety fitment.

MK. IV Grips

FWI, I recently ordered a set of checkered walnut "ambi" grips from Majestic Arms.
They arrived 3 days later and and look beautiful.
As soon as Ruger returns my Mk. IV I'll be able to tell you how they feel too!!

I put on a set of STONER GRIPS. The checkering is fantastic and I get a lot of complements from other shooters. Check them out.

Check on Amazon for "STONER" grips for your gun

I have them on my Mark IV lite and the quality and fit is perfect.

Don't know whats taking so long, but...

Greetings...

I'm currently awaiting the return of my new broken Mk 4 Target from Ruger but I've already put a set of Hogue Mk 2/3 rubber thumb rests on my Mk 4 Hunter. A motor tool would have made it a bit faster to work on, but I managed a nice sloppy job using nothing but a pocket knife and my stone aged be-speckled blurry eyes.

In the case of the Hogue grips, the only modifications I had to make were to the top edges on both sides. Slightly bigger Bolt release button hole on the forward edge, slightly bigger and deeper safety lever hole (vs the button of the 2's and 3's) and on the right side, a space either for the replacement washer that replaces the safety (in my case) or a cut out for the actual lever if you choose to keep it.

Only the top edges, no other mods required. I plan on making yet another set when my Target eventually gets discharged from the Ruger hospital, but who knows, maybe by them Hogue will finally squat or get off the pot after OVER a YEAR, and discover that a market does actually exist!

All in all, I think I took less than an hour? Maybe Hogue should hire me and fire the slacker they currently pay!

Good to hear. I also found some nice grips at MajesticArms.com. I've been seriously thinking of buying a set of theirs.
