Hiramís in Fort Lee, NJ. Used to live right across the street. Place is a dump, but the hot dogs are the best. Deep fried Thumans on a bun with mustard and green relish. Place is pretty famous. Been around 70 years?

I grew up in the high rise apartments across the street.

Never got the gourmet hot dog thing?. If I wanted one, I guess one of the chain gas stations (Kwik Trip, Holiday etc) or maybe a Sams club or Ikea food court place.

The best hotdogs I have found in Alaska are at an outdoor stand in downtown Anchorage called Tia's. The grilled reindeer sausage with CocaCola onions is fantastic.

If you're going thru Atlanta.....

PASS on the Varsity. I have never had such lousy dogs and fries. Not just my humble opinion but all 5 people traveling with me.

Ballpark beef from the grocery store, sweet relish, chopped sweet onions, and mustard.

Or, the Varsity in downtown Atlanta, with chili, onions, and mustard.

Portillo's makes a good Chicago dog. I've never been, but I hear Pinks in LA is good also.

I canít pass a Dairy Queen, without stopping for 3 chili dog and a double large order of well done onion rings.

At home itís Hoffman (local brand) hot dogs with hormel chili, or Texas White Hots or Bratwurst

In Mebane its Jimmy's, they have Red dogs like the Mayor liked but also Nathans all beef both regular and footlong, good chili, good slaw...nothing like a Chicago dog (which I do like) but good basic dogs. The Red dogs are a buck on Monday's and Thursday's.
