Went to a auction yesterday here in NW Ohio. Thought I would post a few results of the Remington .22's

Model 510 SMOOTH BORE ( not Routledge ) 650.00

Model 514 325.00

Model 592M 550.00

Model 512 350.00

Model 33 425.00

Model 121 SMOOTH BORE 700.00

all appeared to be in good condition.

514 brought an absurd price.

I love that you did this! It gives a true localized pricing. A 514 sold at auction last week in south central PA for 140. fair condition but missing a butt plate

I like reports like this. It shows differences from my area. I saw a nice 33 at a gun show a month ago for $350. Two 514's for $150 each. I never see any smoothbores here in this sparsely populated rural area.

It is hard to believe that 33 fetched $425, and even $350 as reported by jerryray. They are the most plain-jane rifles I can imagine, and were selling for $150 or so just a few months ago. Glad I held on to mine

I do not believe auction prices reflect the true value of products. First, folks who go to auctions are hopping to get a real steal of a deal. Those who buy at auctions, will be herd bragging about the low prices they paid.

Second, many who attend auctions are after a particular item and are willing to pay more than it is value, simply because they want to add it to whatever they collect.

Third, on any given day, the participants in an auction could be limited to either collectors or deal seekers.

Value is reflected by the desires of the purchaser, at that given moment and tomorrow, it could rise or fall, depending on the fickleness of the market and make up of bidders.

Many times the final price is due to the skill of the auctioneer.

Of course this is simply my opinion and means nothing to those who might feel differently.
