thanks Ill look forward to your seeing your results ,I contacted IBI through facebook and they said the same thing as you regarding the bigger barrel diameter at the muzzle

IBI

Hey Lithgow,
Iíve also ordered one, it will be going into a 455 action. I ordered an 18Ē long, threaded muzzle with the Eley EPS chamber. Total is 473$ Canadian shipped.
I purchased it through Jerry at Mystic Precision.
I also called IBI and talked to Ryan, great guy and answered all my questions.
Iíll update as well when I assemble my parts.
Dave.

$473 Canadian is about $360 for us in the states, wonder what the import tax will do to the price before we see them....

Lithgow,
I contacted IBI a few weeks back. The pre-fits have either a modified Eley EPS chamber, or a Win 52D chamber, unsure how that is ordered for locally. I'll be awaiting their Tikka TX1 prefits.
Cheers...

And that, my friends, is a nail driver..

I don't own any switch barrel rifles now, (I don't consider the Tikka a switch barrel design, plus it already shoots very well), but IBI is definitely at the head of my list for a Savage pre-fit in 6.5.
JC Custom Barrels in New Brunswick has mixed reviews, while IBI has been positive for the ones I've seen.

Did the 455 barrel come with head space shims? Part of the trouble Lilja had was the inconsistency of CZ receivers. They've addressed that with shim kits.

No headspace shims included. Was told that they have not found headspace to be an issue.

I also have a 457 MTR which i will mount the IBI barrel on and see how that performs.

Some quick grouping with cheap ammo. CCI Blazer on top and CCI Standard Velocity
Calipers zeroed on .22

thanks for posting the pictures it's appreciated I have ordered a benchmark barrel as your IBI barrel is shooting really well but just want to see if I can get slightly better ,but it will cost double also your CZ455 really looks nice in that boyds stock

Poffels, the end looks somewhat like a muzzle-weighted rendition.

Is it just my eyes, or is it really that way?

Thanks!

Outstanding !! Looks like another great option for higher precision barrel... Too bad they do not come with shimmable option so we can adjust the headspace to whatever ammo we plan to shoot.

I really like this option on the Lilja..

Will be following this thread closely ..

Pls continue to post your 50 and hopefully some 100 yard targets as well

Congrats!

The end of the barrel does have a "bulge" similar to some Anschutz barrels.

I like it. My son just got a 22" barrel from Craddock, it throws fliers with RWS target ammo. We just did a quick shooting session with it. Was there a break in period with yours? We will do some more testing when we have more time.

Mike
