Bolt work
I've been out of the rimfire game for a few years but coming back. A good while ago I had a few 10/22 bolts reworked by a member on here by the name of Que. I searched and found a message saying he doesn't do this anymore. Is there anyone else that does this? Thank you.

Randy at CPC. The BEST.
However he’s running 2-3 months behind but he’s worth the wait! Yes I’m a customer, no I’ve never gotten anything for free from him. I’m thrilled to pay retail.

+1 for CPC. If you really want to maximize your 10/22 potential, send the barrelled action with trigger to Randy for his full service tune-up. Best $200 you will spend on a 10/22. Reworks bolt and trigger. Recrowns barrel and trues up the action/barrel interface to set proper headspace. Spend the extra $10 for one of his extractors if it is not included in the package. I am also a happy customer and I am not compensated in any way for this recommendation. Give it some honest consideration. YMMV

So with him being about 2-3 months behind, will I have to send the bolt in now and just wait, or do I reserve my spot in line and maybe send it in a respectable time before he plans to do mine. Hope this makes sense, but if I can avoid being without the gun for months , that would be great. If not, it's understandable. Also, does anyone here that has their bolt jeweled by him, can he jewel over the "RUGER" logo and get rid of that? Thanks guys for all the info!!

nothing against Randy for sure, but since he is behind you might just want to get a KIDD bolt, since it would only cost a bit more than shipping your stock bolt back and forth to be modded

Think I'll stick with Randy. Cheapest Kidd bolt I found is $100. It's half that for the rework.

Yes, a simple bolt rework right now is 2 -3 weeks after it arrives...
Yes brand new reworked Ruger bolts are in stock and normally mailed in a few days...
It's only 10/22 Tuneups that are backed up by 3 months (and getting worse)...

Randy- there are certainly worse problems in life than having more work orders than you can keep up with!
You deserve every bit of success, your work speaks for itself and you’ve certainly earned it!

most companies aftermarket bolts are ~$100.. which is what makes the KIDD bolt the bargain it is
just remember Randy is confined to working with what you send him, if your Ruger bolt is on the small side of what Ruger QC has determined is acceptable, that is what you get back
but it's your rifle, your money, your decision
...just don't forget to add another $10 for Randy's extractor
