Nicely done

How short is the barrel? I like the way you extended the top sight rail to increase your sight radius after shortening the barrel.

What's your main purpose for this pistol? Most folks who go for the super short barrels usually do so to make their pistol as short a pistol as possible with a suppressor. All fine and good!

With the ballistics of the .22LR cartridge being what they are, I like to have at least 4.5" of barrel or longer for my .22LR pistol adventures

I'd be interested in hearing how the short barrel effects accuracy, so when you can, post up some images of typical groups with it!

I could live with that. I like the porting, the shortened barrel, definitely the front sight and rib and the extended bolt.

You would need a nice custom leather holster for it. Preferably a cross draw. Trigger should be in the 2.5 to 4 pounds depending on if it's for carry or competition.

Very nicely done.

Nice work and the short 3 barrels are a blast. Ive made 2 myself plus a 3 1/2. Dont let others shoot it unless you want someone to hound you constantly to sell it. By the way.

Agree 100% , 3 inch is great for the MK IV .
They shoot great .
The gun is allready sold to a customer , but I think I will do one more for
myself .

regards

Otto

Would like to know where you purchased the 3" barrel and front sight rib mount.
Thanks

Doug,

I took a standard Ruger MK4 Target .
I cut down the barrel to 3 inch and made a 1/2x28 UNEF thread on to the end
of the barrel . The sight rib mount and the barrel shroud are made at my shop.
As front sight you can use a Glock front sight .
All of these Us parts from Tandemkross or Volquartson are not available here
in Austria , but glock parts are so I made it that way ....

I have several CNC tools here to do all the parts in house .
This week I finished a oversized magazin release , next part is
a thumb rest and then I have to finish all the parts in black .....
Lot of work , but I like to have a job and hobby at the same time .
