I put this gun together 4 years ago and hadn't done much with it since then until discovering NLR22, now it's seeing lot of action.
I put Vortex Diamondback scope on it for this shooting discipline.

CMMG upper on a RRA lower?

Just asking cause RRA makes a dedicated rimfire upper too.

Rock River Arms Lower
Rise Armament 3.5 single stage trigger
Timber creek extended magazine release
Mission First Tactical Battlelink utility stock
" " " engage pistol grip
" " " trigger guard
CMC anti-walk pins
UTG 6 position buffer tube
Redi-mag adapter for S&W magazines
Lower receiver pin and spring kit, mil-spec bolt release from local Murdocks
CMMG complete 16"upper
Monstrum one piece base
Vortex Diamondback scope
Silencerco Warlock 2
Here's a target I shot a few weeks ago before before deciding which lot of ammunition to use in a NLR22 match, it was outside in real world conditions.
I post pictures of real targets shot at distances appropriate to the task, no doubt I as well as others have bolt guns that's group better than this gun but I prefer a semi-auto for NRL22, this gun is accurate enough for 90% of the targets at this competition with most of the shots falling right around 1 moa. It groups better with Center X, I just don't want to spend that much on a game I'm just learning.

Nice to see that an M4 profile barrel can shoot well. I have one and don't shoot it much.

Does that scope position give you any problems in prone? I mount scopes with the ocular bell forward of the CH, but even standing sometimes that can be too close for me.

I'm not tall at 5'9" with a short neck, scope is fine in all shooting positions, my kid has to lengthen the stock when he shoots the gun, he's 6'.
I have not checked the bore diameter but the chamber of the CMMG but it's pretty tight for a semi-auto, they did a good job making the barrel/ chamber accurate, it's as good as a target version of a 597 I own.
Years ago I had a 10-22 that came from the factory with a Lilja barrel, it was marginally more accurate than either one of the aforementioned guns but would it make a difference outside in field positions encountered in NRL22?
Doubtful, and I wouldn't be gaining the experience or skills with an AR-15 style rifle which is sort of the point for me shooting NRL22.

Nice rifle! I shot 10-shot groups at 100-yds with my Lothar-Walther barreled AR-22 and experienced similar groups. I'd be pretty happy with those results especially for the discipline you're shooting.

Try CCI SV. My PSA 16 will put 10 into a 1-11/2 group at 50yds all day with it.

That was my set up. Got the CMMG bolt and barrel and put together an upper, and the lower I had was RRA. Has a Bushnell rimfire scope on it now. But I did use the 15-22 magazine adapter so I have last round hold open. In fact, I think I'll get it out and shoot it today!
