I tried smoking when I was in the 7th or 8th grade. I was too stupid to realize that I stunk to high heaven. When I got home my mother said, "You've been smoking." No, not me. I got the %%%% kicked out of me, not for smoking but for lying about it. Never touched another cigarette. However, I did have a brief dalliance with cigars in college but I never cared for it.

In college I hung out with a lot of smokers. In the morning, I'd spend five minutes horking up brown gunk out of my lungs. There was a conflict so I changed my crowd and stopped hanging out with smokers. No more brown stuff being horked up every morning.

I work with a guy who has to run outside every five minutes for a smoke. It's rather irritating because he's not there to deal with problems. So, if he's outside smoking and gets an up, he loses that up.

Vile nasty habit practices largely by careless, thoughtless, and selfish people.

I will say that some smokers are considerate. Before I got married I had a roommate who smoked but she rarely smoked in the house because hated the odor of stale smoke.

I'm sure I've already said it but I had to give up one of the few pleasures I have left, which was competitive pool.

None of the leagues play in smoke-free places any more, there just aren't many left. I have a pool hall just over a mile away and I can't even step foot in it.

Back when I played while I was married, I used to have to come home and strip down in the laundry room, dump my clothes in the washer - and even then, the next morning, just walking into the kitchen, you could still smell it. My car stank as well.

Also sure I've said it, but I met a lovely lady playing Poker (league, again) but every break, she'd be outside smoking. It was like they were gasping for air, how quickly they all get up and run outside to light up. Nope.

Smartest thing I ever did,,,

Smartest thing I ever did,,,
Was quit smoking.

After 44 years of cigs I quit in 2009 using hypnosis,,,
Haven't had one puff since.

I doubt I would still be functioning if I hadn't.

One thing I'll say for smokers. If you work in a place that's big enough that there are several of them outside smoking at the same time, the smoker in your department will be your best source for information about what's going on anywhere in the company.

I had one working for me and he always let me know what was going on but I would not have hired him if I'd known how much time he was going to spend on smoke breaks.

Wonder how much productivity is lost daily by smokers and/or social media users?

I saw a smoking hot nurse at a doctor's appointment yesterday but knowing my wife wouldn't let me keep her I so just said hello.
When I left fired up my pipe with a golden burley/black cavendish blend.

Yes starting and continuing to do so was the two dumbest things I have ever done..If you do one thing for your kids of significance in their life..Do not ever allow them to smoke..Go as far as locking them away if they ever try it..

I have made it a year or so now and then quitting..But that was the best I have ever done..

It is likely not going to be a pretty outcome because of that habit for me..If you do not do it, please do not start..If at all possible, quit now.

After 30 years of smoking cigarettes, I quit them on March 27, 1991.
That’s the day that a heart attack nearly killed me.
And 30 years later, if I allowed myself, I could smoke one that stretched from here to Miami.
I’ve never lost the urge.

Hey, those are gonna be real stale. The best cigs today come from Turkey, our ally and friend.

An Ally the one meets in an alley

In the dead of night, might pick a fight

The whole “enemy of my enemy” thing doesn’t really work well when they are both bad actors, that jus happen not to like each other.

Really the best thing to do is step back and let those two dogs fight, and then attack the winner.
