Auction Model M missing action parts

I bought this knowing the parts were missing but have never seen another one (here in Canada). The serial # is 28653 so I assume a later M production. The stock is not the pistol grip stock. I am looking for parts but not sure what I am looking for. Is this a one that has later parts? Did some M models come with the straight stock or was this a replacement? The rear sight is a long one compared to the parts diagram (K & M parts) and was braised up (also missing elevator) Front sight has no ivory bead. The butt plate has a faint marking - M1-1109-RO-209 which I assume to be an inventory number. From where?

#K-75 Extractor and Ejector Spring
#K-76 Carrier Elevator Spring

This is from the K & M parts diagram. I am looking for education on this so I know what to look for here in Canada. I know I always say the search is the biggest part of the fun so I think I will have fun for a long time with this one. - Bill

Congratulations on a great find! The breech bolt is not an easy find, but it is not impossible. The bad thing about them is that they made a couple or 3 different designs of the breech bolt, which will all likely fit the rifle, but the wrong one(s) simply won't work right. I've been on a working break from mine for a couple years now and still haven't gotten it to be reliable with a replacement bolt, but it's maybe not too far.

Again, great find! Sweet little rifles when they run right! Attractive as display pieces even if they don't!

Bill, she looks good. To bad the bolt is missing. I will have to dig mine out and look at the internals. I have been out of game for far to long and my memory is not up to par, still in recovery mode from the remodel.

I can't make any statements about the straight stock, as I would be guessing at this time. See above statement.

But I do know that I have never seen a stamped M model with one. To my knowledge, all the parts will/should have part of or all of the serial number stamped on them. Butt stock, butt plate and both receiver halves, if the numbers do not match then you have a put together unit.

I know I have two maybe three bolt bodies at home. One stripped bare, one someone modified and have to dig for the other one.

Another question, what does the barrel stamp read, Mossberg or Premier?

The only markings on it aside of the serial number. No "M" or partial serial anywhere I found yet. The butt plate marking is not Mossberg obviously. - Bill

No questioning that it is a Mossberg Model M barrel, I found out that most barrels where not stamped with the letter model when I was putting my K back together. My M is not marked either.

Well I looked at my notes and checked the Model M again. The front of the receiver has 653 as does the carrier. Took the butt plate off and the stock has 527 and the butt plate has that scratched on it. A put together rifle.
So the action appears to match and the stock is different. Just need parts from a similar serial number.
Still trying to see what the numbers (M1-1109-RO-209) relate to. Appears to be inventory number but from where. - Bill
