Like the title says... Need help with a scope and the correct rings? I would prefer to buy a Vortex Optic and not get to crazy in terms of price.

Thoughts/Help?

I run a 4x30 scope ( a real cheap one ) that is sold online. I think it is an AIM Sports or Target Sports.

It works pretty well so far out to 50yds. Rings are Leupold QRW.

It still fits in the bag with the scope mounted.

Before that, I used a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot.

UTG "Bugbuster"; fits in the bag mounted on the receiver, holds zero well, comes with a pretty decent set of QD rings, nice illum. ret., and the price is decent too.

I run a Bushy AR/22 2-7x side AO on Leupold QD Medium rings. Except for being a heavy scope, it exceeds my expectation: clear and bright glass, resettable zero, the AO feature on a low power scope is simply PRICELESS!

Just have a great time today, 50 yards with dirty Remmy bulk ammo:

Feels like im ripping the base off every time move it!! So i keep it at 4x

Id get a super light leupold rimfire scope in hindsight:-/

I also have a red dot sight on mine (Aimpoint Micro H-1) and replaced the factory iron sights (Tech Sight). If I did go with a scope I was gravitating towards a Leupold rimfire scope.

Big-Mac: I use a poor-man CatTail. It works like a charm. It came in 2 and one of them has been on my Burris MTac 1-4x for 1+ year.

It is surely not as slim and nice looking as those $70 CatTail, but they are also $70 each

I bought from this guy who is in U.K., they are just $5 each: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Breakaway-Fi...item2a3be238f9

Last time I recommended this little cheapo from fleaBay some old turd was all over me. None the less I believe it's a Ncstar and it fits very well with the barrel off. Since my eyes still work well I like it for the fit and price.

On a take down I like to stay light either a red dot or small scope since people usually buy a take down to be portable. Any good light scope should do.

I have a Nikon AR223 on mine. It is bright and contrasty. The AR223 is great up to 100 yards. You can shoot beer cans all day long at 100 yards. If you want to shoot at specific letter on the can you need higher magnification like a 18x or 24x scope. I have another 10/22 with a Vortex 6-18x scope that rocks..

Jugmax - about the AR/22, glass is clear and bright, no distortion on the perimeter. I really like the SF feature of which we don't have much selection in the 2-7x market.

However the ocular piece is big and the scope is HEAVY. The weight factor may not well suited for hiking/ hunting, but for range fun or bench shooting it is perfect.

I can fit it in the TD bag although is a tight fit.
