I'm a little behind in updating the list. I'll get to it soon.

17 HMR chrono results / printable PDF target

Here are a couple things you guys might find interesting. One is a spreadsheet showing results from my ammo testing. On the right, i show some A17 ammo that I had weight sorted to the 1/10th of a grain -- thinking it would be a more consistent velocity than un-sorted ammo. It was not... (a good thing as now I have no temptation to weight-sort them). Also i've included a printable PDF that is the 50/100 yard 17 HMR target in PDF format that prints with the correct scale, i.e., the two squares are 1".

Spreadsheet:

Man that’s some good/ organized data. I’m curious where the CCI VMax would end up? Also since you shot your target with the Hornady, have you grouped worse with the A17? I tried to sort once and the “Bad” ammo grouped better then the “Good” ammo so I quit lol.

New submission

This time I had the Anschutz 1517 MPR and a good box of Federal TNT 17gr. When I get this combination working, it really really works.

By the official measuring method, the final number is 0.3955". Those TNT bullets poke small holes in paper!

**Edit, no longer my best with this gun go down two posts.**

Good shooting,

When these .17’s get ammo they like and good shooters they are pretty impressive.
I couldn’t better my groups today so I’ll go with what I’ve got.

Hey everyone I am new to RFC and just purchased my first .17hmr. It is a Savage 93r17 BTVS. I was wondering if this is still a game/challenge I am able to get in on. I read the first post explaining it before skipping to the last page to make sure it is still active. Have the rules for this changed any since it was started in the beginning? two five shot groups .3" CTC for 50yds and 1" four shot group CTC for 100yds? If they have changed please update me on this. I am going to the range this weekend and would love to give them both a shot

Sure you can attempt either one. But the list on the front page gets updated very infrequently.

Thanks for the quick update. I will try it out then but I won't go crazy over it. I hate that I'm just coming into it. I'd love to see things like this considering there just isn't much in terms of challenges out their between shooters for the .17hmr. What size paper are you guys printing the target on?
