Monthly air rifle club match.

Match #1, NRA Air Rifle resettable, yards
Date: 8-2-20

Round #1, Target Rifle:
Class: AAA
Anschutz Super Air 2002
Sightron @ 24X
JSB Diablo Exact (7.33) pellets

Chickens - 8
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 5
Rams - 4
TOTAL - 24

Not a great start for the morning.

Round #2, Sporter Rifle:
Class: Master
Air Arms TX200
Leupold M8 24X
JSB Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 7
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 9
Rams - 8
TOTAL - 31

Kind of silly when the Turkey score saves the day. Managed to have the high score over the other two Master shooters though!

Round #3, Open Rifle:
Class: Master
Air Arms HFT-500
Weaver T-24
Air Arms Diablo Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 9
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 8
Rams - 6
TOTAL - 32

Rams giving me problems at the start but finished well on the other three animals.

Wednesday evening smallbore practice before our monthly match this Saturday.

NRA steel, meters
Anschutz 1710
Leupold Vari-X III / Premier boosted scope @ ~30X
SK Rifle Match
Date: 8-5-20
Class: AAA/AAA

Round #1
Chickens - 6
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 9
Rams - 9
TOTAL - 33

Started on Chickens but then fell into a real groove. One of those rare times when everything just clicked.

Round #2
Chickens - 7
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 8
Rams - 6
TOTAL - 30

Both Chickens and Rams didn't go as well as the others this time but I'll take the 30!

My aggregate score of 63 beats my previous PR from last month by one point. My friend who is in Master class shot a 30 and 34 so he still got me by one point. Trying to keep up with him (or beat him) really makes me work hard to improve my shooting.

Monthly club match. Very little wind but hot and muggy as usual.

NRA steel, meters
Anschutz 1710
Leupold Vari-X III / Premier boosted scope @ ~25X
SK Rifle Match
Date: 8-8-20
Class: AAA/AAA

Round #1, Standard Rifle
Chickens - 8
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 4
Rams - 5
TOTAL - 26

Rough start on Turkeys and Rams, but made up some ground on the short line. Surprisingly almost everyone shot on the low side of their average this match.

Round #2, Hunter Rifle
Chickens - 8
Pigs - 8
Turkeys - 8
Rams - 7
TOTAL - 31

Felt much better with the outcome of this round. One more point would have been a Master class score and put me in Master Class for Hunter Rifle.

Wind was spicy enough to really mess up my Turkey score.

Chickens - 7
Pigs - 9

SHOOTER CLASS:AA
FIREARM:CZ 452 Silhouette
OPTIC:Weaver V-24
AMMO:CCI SV

CHICKENS......6

PIGS..............6

TURKEYS.........4

I didn't shoot a July match nor have I practiced on the silly wets. The time off didn't seem to affect my score. Pretty happy with this.

Last Sunday I won the High Power Silhouette match at the local gun club with a 14.
Only had 8 shooters.

Weekly air rifle practice. Wind was up a bit so scores are a mixed bag.

Again with the Turkeys...

Round #2, Sporter Rifle:

Air Arms TX200
Leupold M8 24X
JSB Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 8
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 8
Rams - 9

Heck, yeah! I'll take it.

Round #3, Open Rifle:
Class: Master
Air Arms HFT-500
Weaver T-24
Air Arms Diablo Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 8
Pigs - 6
Turkeys - 7
Rams - 8

Finished on Pigs and fell apart. The last pig of each bank (#5 and #10) I missed because I put the pellet through the hole between the legs.

Smallbore match this Saturday down south of town. Scores will be posted after.

Smallbore club match. Still pretty hot and not much wind to cool us down. I had a young co-worker at the match and I was "shepherding" him through the process so my scores took a bit of a hit.

We started on Pigs and I finally got in the groove on Chickens.

Too many mistakes on the short line but had decent runs on the Turkeys and Rams.

We had put out half-scale animals for my friend to shoot for his first time. He shot 20 the first match and 24 the second. He had plenty of fun but we'll see if he liked it enough to show up a second and/or third time.
