Good luck deciding on the options LeRoy presents. Look at his web site.

or buy an Anschutz from him ready to go!

In my mind for sheer joy of shooting .22 you can't beat a TRP3 with the optional Jard trigger and Harrell tuner.

This hasn't been posted for awhile, some background on the 57M.

As said, the only way to know which is best for you is to get (or use) both.

If you get a new Cooper, I hope you get a good one...Tom

No regrets at all and still have it. Have had many offers to buy it from me.

Thanks and if nothing else they are beautiful looking rifles.

That's kind of what I'm thinking with regards to both options being extremely desirable. However I'm thinking the Cooper is a better match between the two. Although the other custom option from Canyon Creek would have been the BEST it's simply more than I am willing to pay. In the end I think the Cooper will more than do what I am looking for it to do for me.

I have a Cooper 57M and of all the Rimfires I have ever had it is the easiest rifle to shoot well. I do take mine squirrel hunting as well as playing on the bench. If I was going to shoot it at the bench primarily I would look at more of a bench style stock and then I believe it would be incredibly fun to shoot. A 54 Anschutz would be awesome to have with a nice stock such as Camster has suggested though, either way you are looking in the right direction.

I strongly considered a bench only configuration and although I envision this as a range only toy for some reason I think I want flexibility as well.

Oops, but I changed my mind just one last time. Now it's a Western Classic. Yeah but that has the AAA+ wood and color case hardened metal work.

Check out First Stop Guns. They seem to have a good inventory of higher grade Cooper 57M's and some Western classics.

If you order from Cooper with stock upgrade I'm not sure you can pick the blank for wood upgrades? At least AAA? Maybe better to find a finished rifle from an online seller so you get the look you want.

Mark buys a lot of nice collections. He had a couple of nice Dakota Arms M22s a few weeks ago.

That is smart shopping! With the internet now there is no need to buy any hi grade rifle without looking it over first for the wood quality.

I guess my experience with doing this with other rifles has been fairly good so far.

The current rifle I am looking at the wood stock is classified as being AAA+ so I'm thinking it will be a great looking stock.

However I may ask my dealer what my options are just to see what can be done.
