T/C R22 Magazine Availability/Updated

Log in to see fewer ads
I should have my new T/C R22 this Friday, and am looking forward to it.

Looking online for extra mags, I'm not coming up with anything, not even on T/C's website.

Any leads, anyone?

The last shot hold-open, and the machined receiver, along with aftermarket accessory compatibility,
were the big selling points of this rifle, to me.

I have more than a dozen Ruger BX1 mags, and a few BX25 mags.
I reckon they'll do, until the T/C R22 mags become more readily available.

I don't know either, sir.
I've never laid eyes on an R55, in person.

I called TC

I called TC about two weeks ago about extra mags, and was told they were not yet available. Was told they'd be available in the near future, whenever that is.

I bought a T/C R22 recently, but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. The magazine hold open was my chief interest, as it appears to use principles of the magazine hold open device that I patented about 18 years ago.
Glad to see somebody picked up on it and put it to use.

Here is the patent for the gizmo I invented - https://patents.google.com/patent/US6502495

Very nice looking gun. Need to get out and do some plinking with it!

Thanks for sharing the T/C information, gunsmither.

And thanks for the link to your patent information. It's interesting to
see just how much is involved in designing and patenting such a "gizmo"!

I contacted TC and they did not know when their mags would be available as an accessory. I do have the 10/22 and they work fine except for the last round hold open.

I just got on T/C's Facebook page, and asked them publicly when extra magazines would be available for sale. Looking forward to their response.

No problem gunsmither.

I was just about to needle T/C on their Facebook page, about magazine availability, again,
when I figured I ought to look on their main website, on the off-chance they put them up.

There they were! A pleasant surprise, to say the least.

2 new mags arrived today

I ordered 2 mags for my TC/R22 last week, and they were delivered this morning.

They came from Battenfield Technologies in Missouri, though I ordered them from TC directly. Same deal; 10% off and shipping included. Now to get out and do some more tin can hunting!
