Ruger 77/22 22LR bedding????

Hello all:

HELP!!!! Some time ago, and I thought it was on RFC, there was a thread on bedding a 77/22. I'm almost sure it was a 22LR. One of the poster's had 3 or 4 pictures showing the procedure. It wasn't really too involved w/ detail it just showed before & after pics of using a Dremel, areas of concern that were high spots, bedding areas, finished job, etc. I have looked everywhere but to no avail. HELP!!! If anyone can help I would appreciate it because I'm beginning to look foolish w/ all the hair I've pulled out. Thanks really...

Regards, Vince A.K.A. "Half Bald"

I used the stress free bedding, where as the action is held down while the bedding cures with elastic instead of using the action screws. That seems to be a good idea with the Ruger because the action can be twisted with the screws.

I most likely had over tightened the action screws over the years, and it sunk down in the stock noticeable at the rear tang, so I used pillars to jack the action back up about 1/32", then excavated the wood around the pillars, and under the action using a 1/8" wide wood chisel.

one artical on pillar bedding,
