I don't subscribe to the thought you can reload to save money. It will take quite a while to amortize the cost of reloading equipment. With that said, the cost per round will be lower than most store bought rounds (*most*).

And some people struggle with making quality reloads.

It is possible to reload equal or better rounds than factory, but today's premium ammo is pretty hard to beat.

If you're just staring to reload, don't expect the first rounds you make to be any better than what you buy. You may get lucky, but it rarely happens that the first rounds you make are the best.

If you want to make quality round, find a mentor that already reloads quality 223 and learn what they do or don't do.

If a .22 rimfire shooter has the patience to shoot a green monster then they can do the same with a box of reloads with incremental increases in powder.

It’s about the same thing with more powder and analysis of the groups not looking at random rimfire ammo caused fliers.

I enjoy the process. Most guns show a preference. A few guns can confound you especially when you start casting your own bullets.

Nobody saves money reloading.......you just get to shoot more.

His amortization looks much sooner than ours, his ammo he describes is a lot more expensive than here.
