Nice looking carbine!

I have one in 7.62x39 that wears a VX-2 2-7x28mm in custom QD rings, so obviously I agree with the recommendation to go with a modest size scope and QD.

I also recently ordered a youth carbine in 223 Rem that I have yet to take delivery of.

Let us know how it shoots!

Beautiful wood - an absolute winner. Bought mine in 2014. Not as pretty but definitely accurate.

I want one in .223 varmint but with 1:12 twist. Don't plan to load anything heavier than 55gr and I want option to shoot lead cast, although they do have nice mold from NOE in 62gr. Where should I look for one?

Good looking carbine and sounds like you scored a bargain. Congratulations.

I scoped my 223 with Warne medium rings and a Leupold 2-7X33.

Nice 527 Carbines here!

Here's one with a Burris Fullfield II 4.5-14x42 in Leupold rings. IME, this is a GREAT scope for the money, fits the iron-sighted 527s without removing the rear sight, and the Ballistic-plex reticle works well for both target shooting and hunting.

Okay, I can play...7.62x39 in a Lux stock with a Kahles 2-7x with a hunter reticle, it's proven good medicine on Whitetails to 225 yards with the Hornady 123 SST load. Fun little rifle that is quite accurate with good ammo.

Usually Sub MOA with the Hornady but never worse than 1.25 and with Sellier and Belloit 123 SP's just a bit over MOA, plenty good for its uses.

225 yards into a 3-4" spot on a live target with a 2-7 scope is more impressive to me than any bench rest target.

Well I decided on a Leupold 4-12x40. I used Burris medium rings.
