Can you please post a picture of these that you have? thanks,

Optics Choices for Henry

I own a Frontier Long barrel. I wanted to add a scope that complimented the rifle. Not a tactical scope. I decided it had to be a gloss finish. A period scope would the style that looks like a tube. I did purchase a cheap Tasco of this style that looked great but performed poorly. It was only $15. There are a number of these on the market, all the same scope with a different names.

I looked a many older style 22 scopes in gloss on ebay. Expensive and not in minty condition. I finally found a Swift 3-9 gloss scope used on ebay that looks good. Not period, but good. There are only a few manufaturers that make gloss scopes. Swift still make the one I purchased used for about $130 discounted and Luopold makes a 22 scope in gloss as well, around $200.

I went with a Marbles Tang Sight for my Henry H001. Great for eyes that need glasses!

Marbles Tang Sight # 009848
Marbles Screw Set # 995006
Marbles Dovetail Blank

I removed the Receiver Cover, Drilled and Tapped a #10-32 hole at a distance of 2.260" from the existing screw hole (Many thanks to my Machine Shop at work!). I also removed the original rear semi-buckhorn sight and replaced it with a Dovetail Slot Blank.

I removed the Original Semi-Buckhorn Rear Sight and filled the dovetail slot with a blank. Here is the finished rifle:

I hate the factory sights. I got the Skinner sights and found them a PITA to adjust for different distances. I have had scopes, with and without hammer spur and lost that "John Wayne" feeling when using them.

I got the Marbles rear Bullseye and have been happier with it than expected.
