Modified Caldwell 1000 yd front rest with Protector front and # 41 rear bag….
Self inflicted tuner, modified factory stock…

Got lucky with this target.. The Eley Match doesn‘t seem to shoot as consistent for me as the Team at the same speed….Could be Me or the Gun's but I bought four different lots of the Eley Match and so far I’m not doin so good….

Nice target, Jim! "X's" are purely gravy @ 50 yards with the green monster's tiny "10" ring anyway!

Is that the new "octagon" barrel? They really seem to be shooters! Have you noticed any quirks with it, compared to a "conventionally rifled barrel - wind effect, etc.?

I've noticed two things so far. First it settles in about 5 rounds after cleaning and second, when I push one out, I can tell right away, yep it was wind change I missed. Still playing with the tuner but there is very little vertical. I've been shooting 3 shot groups when tuning and have 13 groups from .017 to .283. When I look back at the targets, I see shots left and right but very few up and down. So far I have tried two lots of Match and one of Center X and all shoot well. Steve did a good job.

BTW, I got to shoot 5 rounds off a 1 piece rest at the match this weekend. What a difference.

That's kinda what I would expect from the Octagon - less vertical. The lack of grooves cut in the bullet should give it less "spin traction" in the air.

Yeah, I really like my Pappas rest. I don't know that the scores are improved any by the one-pc but they are definitely easier to use & more forgiving. And quicker going from bull to bull.

Winds still gusty & switchy this morning but much more consistent than we've seen all month. Shot 3 targets today, a 235-236/?X (didn't guage it), 238/7X, then this 243/4X.

50 Yard Unlimited (shot 4/27)
243/4X - Stan Gibbs - Kingsland, TX - (Claybuster)
Remington 40X - Weaver T45 - SK "Std+" ammo
'60 40X (civilian) action - Shilen barrel - 1.5 oz Jewell trigger
Extra heavy Fudd tuner - Factory 40XB stock self mod to BR
Two "8's", three "9's" & not many "X's"...... (self-scored)

Windy, switching from 9:00 to 3:00, most missed 10's were to11:00 so the wind got me, I think.

Time Custom, Hoehn Tuner, Shilen barrel
Loh front rest, Protektor Rear, Eley black box

I had to wait for a cease fire and I had some old SK Jagd subsonic ammo. I fired three shots on my sighter and they all went into the same hole! I think I have to pick up some more of that stuff and give it a real work out!
