Not sure exactly how I feel about these as of yet. You feel them with your trigger finger but they don't get in the way. These are my two BL-22's with them on.

I was more hoping for a regular longer take down screw that the saddle ring would screw onto the correct side. But this is what Beartooth Mercantile came up with instead of what I suggested. Will get better pictures when I have more time.

Personally I have just never been a big fan of saddle rings, something to clunk against the receiver for no real reason other than decorative.

Well if you have a saddle, they are quite useful.

They look great J:

wproct,
Really that is all I use them for. I Love the looks of a saddle ring on a rifle. Most my levers have them on them. Other than for decoration for me they are useless, you are correct.

But this saddle ring also is a takedown screw. So no tools needed for takedown. Then again I hardly ever takedown my BL-22's

TooMany22's

Just got these two in for my BL's and one that I have to drill the receiver on my Henry to attach. It should really look good when the drill bit finally comes in that I ordered to do it with.

Yes, that is very true. Actually, I think they look pretty cool. I could just never bring myself to put one of my lever action rifles.

Better on a lever than a lip or nostril!

BL22 saddle ring bling

Just my dos centavos, a carbine length lever action looks down right nekkid without a saddle ring.

My 9422 and My Marlin centerfires all have the saddle ring on the correct side, the left. When I talked to them about making saddle rings for the BL-22 I wanted a takedown screw that stock out the left side (same style screw just longer) so the saddle ring would just screw on like a nut on the left side. They came out with this sort of take down saddle ring on the right that just replaces that take down screw. They look ok but just weird being on the right.

That just looks natural with the saddle ring, Is that one a drill and tap saddle ring that you did yourself ? I may have to go that route. Getting ready to do that on my Henry anyway.

jstanfield103-
It is a drill and tap. I did the work and am very pleased with it. The saddle ring is the pre 64 Winchester style (1/4X30 tap) and when I do another, I'll go with the post 64 saddle ring(8-36 tap, much easier/less expensive tap to find). Red LocTite to finish. Very solid and actually functional! Next project is adding a staple style saddle ring to my new(to me) Henry Golden Boy to complete the Winchester 1866 vibe it exudes.

I just finished the 8-36 saddle ring on my Henry 45/70 yesterday. Easily done and worked well. Thanks for the reply. I may end up doing that on my BL-22's also. Yes I also used red Loctite.

Well, I'm a leftie and my "coach style" BL-22 (Micro Midas barrel, full size stock) needs one. So, I found the web site and going to order one. The only thing I'm not sure of is do I want a blued or brass ring. The stud/screw will be blued of course. Stainless just wouldn't look right on a blued rifle.
