This post is going to be great!
Thank you Flysalot for taking the time, spending the money, and mostly for letting us ride along!
My Son has a bone stock carbine (xmas present)waiting for just the right tweaks.
I like your original concept and think you should stick with it until the end.
Hi. Glad to see you're back at your project and hope things are going your way. If I may, could you put the date you post new info at the beginning of the post? Right now the date you reserved the post is what we see. Just a small thing that will help find the newest info.
Nice to see the testing phase begin! Looks like #826 is a good shooter out of the box. I almost wish the results were more "typical" of today's production, to give a bigger margin for improvement.
So, what's next?
Great Thread, Tim- funny that a mod who DOESNT cover the 10-22 area is spending the time, money and resources to do this.
Again, my hats off to you, Sir- you're a credit to the forum.
Thanks so much for your efforts, it's perfect timing for me getting my first 10-22 a week ago. Today, I took it to the range for the first time and put 50 rounds of Blazer through it without a hiccup Thanks for the idea, I will be following your cues very closely! I can hardly wait for it to progress
Here's S/N #826's (The blued rifle) First target. Scope was bore sighted only shot February 28, 2014
Remember I was going to break in each rifle with 50 rounds of CCI Blazer. Well I shot the Blazer but These are no break in, first targets. Room for improvement to be sure...
Well, you have an eager audience here raptly waiting for your next installments!
I think your idea of moving the 'test' to 50 yards is a good one. The longer range will make the improvements more noticeable. A couple of my 10/22s which are capable of nickel-quarter sized groups at 25 yards open up a lot more at 50.

I agree and I promise, more on the way soon! Gotta take care of my Mom & Dad, they were there for me, I'm going to help them get through this and get back to things, I PROMISE!

You've got your priorities straight. We'll be here when your next installment arrives.
Eagerly looking forward to the continuation of these tests as I'm now thoroughly addicted to 10/22s and the eternal promise of endless modification. But only if they actually make a difference.
