Guess I'll play, here's my Super Single Six.
My father got it new in the mid 60's and I bought it from him in 1970 when I got out of the Army.

Citoriplus, I love the brass grip frame. Was that OEM or is it aftermarket?

Its an original Ruger 'Red 3' frame I got from a friend about 40 years ago.
He had, he said, all of the 200 odd brass frames Ruger ever made, but for some reason never sold.
They were supposed to be scrapped, but he, how I don't know, got his hands on them with the intention of selling them for around $100 each.
He put one on his Super Blackhawk and being a friend he sold me this one for $25.
It took me a couple of years to find a set of original grips that fit.
Found them in a gun store's assorted parts pile for $5.
As for the other 198 frames, I have no clue what happened to them.
Mostly because I haven't seen or heard from the guy in over 30 years.

1971 3 screw, wood grips, 5 1/2 barrel, box has very little wear and I think all the original paperwork is even there.

Slowing Down Ammo Consumption...

My Single Six & Single Ten are enjoyable to shoot, and with ammo hard to come by, they certainly slow down the rate of consumption...

Are those real snakeskin grips? I have 2 pair that will fit my Ruger SA (one is rattlesnake and one is cobra) but I took them off. I worry that the scales might flake off with heavy use

An update to my post from last January -- I've changed my Model 0623 from a Millet red dot sight to a Weaver 1.5-4x20 scope. Although shown with the 22LR cylinder here, I primarily use it for Practical Hunter Short Course Silhouette with 22WMR, and have found the red dot sight to be a bit limiting for lining up those 100 yard shots.

My "twins" were both born in 2010. On top is my fixed sight .22 and below is my Lipsey's .44 Special.
