Mark III Hunter Rear Sight Removal

I'll be installing the Burris FastFire mounting plate that replaces the rear sight on my Mark III pistol. Since I'm traveling I cannot examine my Mark III, which is the more traditional version (not the 22/45). My question is this...Are all of the Mark III rear sights, regardless of version, dovetailed in?

Can you add a little more to that? How is it mounted, if not dovetailed?

OK...My intention is to remove the rear sight altogether, and put in its place the Burris mounting plate for the FastFire III. There will be no rail in my installation. My Mark III is not the 22/45 version.

That will work fine- you just need the appropriate size dovetail mount from Burris.
