Olive, burnt bronze, grey or FDE?

I've just ordered a .22 in FDE as a "fun" gun and bunny rifle.

Being Down Under I expect a wait as there are many on back order.

Anyone got one yet?

I bought one of the Silver (gray) Talo RPRf models. I just liked it because it was not black. I believe if has a $10 upcharge. Then the next day I saw an OD Green one. Same color as Magpul OD Green. I would have preferred green, but gray is fine.

I have not gotten serious range time yet. Bolt was stiff. But as with all Rugers knocking off the sharp edges of machining does wonders.

My last MkIII pistol ejection port could have been used to plane wood it was so sharp in the inner edges. I had the same issue with the edge of the trigger guard on a Ruger GP100. Fortunately both handguns were stainless and the bolt of the RPRf was silver.

Note I said removed the sharp edge, I did NOT round or 'melt' the edges. That smoothed up the bolt and the first 50 rounds made it even better. Next step is accuracy testing at 100 yards.

Trigger was fine, as was action bedding bolt tightness, etc. I do not intend to do any mods for at least a brick of ammo. I prefer to let the rifle settle in first.

Handgrip is aftermarket. The factory handgrip is black.

This Leapers mount is nice quality and the color matches my fde RPR. It comes in 1", 30 and 34mm tube sizes and several colors.

I picked up an OD green version today. Will see how it shoots compared to my CZ's tomorrow.

I wish mine would hurry up!

Got my Jap made 4-12X40 Bushnell Trophy ready to mount and an angled foregrip and sling / bipod stud on the way.

I did get to put a couple hundred rounds through the rifle yesterday. I ran the 15 round magazine with some tape on the front and did not have any feeding issues. I worked through several types of ammo but was shooting off front bag only and it was quite windy but managed to get just under 1/2" group at 50 yards with Eley Target and close to that with Eley Subsonic (older green box). Federal Match did ok but I did have a flyer or 2 which I think was more me than anything. It was more of a break in and just have fun shooting than really working on trying to get any groups out of the rifle for now. I think I will need to get several hundred more rounds through it before I really start working on pinpointing the ammo it prefers. I will say that the barrel was horrible when I cleaned it prior to checking torques on everything and getting it ready to go shooting. Don't think I have ever had to run that many patches through on a new gun to get all the crude out. I did enjoy the shooting and worked on some mechanics of staying on target as I cycled the bolt which seems to be easier than with my CZ's due to the ergonomics of the RPRR. FYI I shoot left handed but I am right hand dominant and cycle the bolt with my right hand which the chassis makes it more ergonomic since I can hold the grip with the RPR compared to standard stocks.

One other thing I was noticing was when I was running some of the bulk ammo such as Blazer, I was noticing a difference in both report and recoil on rounds that were obviously loaded different or ignition was off. I did and will continue to watch the striker marks to make sure they are consistent.
