I've have an old .177 beginners springer that hasn't been used in years. So I'm looking for a Springer rated scope that is supposed to with stand this kind of recoil. Any ideas?

the hammers 3-9x40ao is a well respected scope that will hold up to the abuse of springers.

can find it for around 50-ish and usually comes with a 1 piece mount.

Any Leupold scope will handle it.

Years ago I spoke with a technician at Leupold and asked the question. He seemed very positive that if their scopes could handle the recoil of a springer air rifle. It has been my experience as well with two RWS Diana air rifles, one .177 and one .22 which have had Leupold scopes mounted on them.

I would check out Hawke Optics. They have airgun scopes from inexpensive on up. They are of good quality for the money, even the inexpensive ones.

I have a BSA AR 2-7x32 Rifle Scope which is rated for springers. Runs about $100, these days. Mine has held up very well on a variety of springers. Decent optics (for a BSA) and target turrets.

Check out Pyramid Air for springer rated scopes, Hawke, Centerpoint, Air Force, Leapers UTG, etc. They also carry a complete line of rings and have technical advisors to answer questions...........

Wink

Thanks to all you guys for the replies, info and insight on my small problem. Maybe it will turn out to be a keeper. Hopefully the scope will help me figure out if it's worth keeping. Or maybe it's just my technique.

I heard Hawke started out doing all springer scopes. A friend of mine has a Hawke that has handled 2k .338 LM rounds. I bought one for my .308 and it’s nice. 2nd on the Hawkes.

Inexpensive was the key word here.

I believe all CenterPoint scopes are springer rated. Swing on over to Gateway to Airguns and I'll bet you'll find something used for a song. Amazon or Walmart should have something. https://www.walmart.com/ip/CenterPoi...Rings/10710686
