okies,. I think I have it now. You use the farthest edge of the horizontal and farthest edge of vertical you add those then do a normal group measurement and add the height and width to the previous measurements. I will reshoot next week and see if I can tighten that up a bit. I have some new ammo coming in Friday

thanks Jim

Dang, something is up with my photo hosting site since daylight savings... lemme see if direct upload to RFC works... Bingo!

Had one of the calmest days in weeks yesterday, if a little chilly at 34F, but it still made for good shootin' weather. Got the rifle warmed up with SK Biathlon, then switched over to Lapua Bi-Polar to go for score. It's amazing what a custom CZ can do at 100 yards when the wind ain't blowin' ya around too much This target had my best group of the day.

Best two groups here, danged wind shift punished my second group and blew up my total spread to 2.131"

After shooting all of my Bi-Polar pills, I used up the SK Biathlon on some remaining targets. Results more than doubled. It's decent offhand practice ammo, but just won't cut the mustard for precision 100 yard shooting. I left those targets stapled to the backboard... Jaia just might be onto something when he rambles about ammo quality, or the nurses keep forgetting to give him his meds on time!

Nice shootin' Rabbido! Never fails, first groups is amazing and the second always seems to find a way to open up.. I call it the "Jaia effect".

Side note.. I was out shooting a competition last weekend, and a buddy of mine was doing some load developement at the other range. His centerfire groups were over twice the size of my rimfire groups.. I know he was still dialing in his load, but it made me feel good about things for just a minute (of angle).. Lol

The "jaia effect"? Hunh?

Is that the one where the label reads "Match", but the results say NOT.

Rick

Link me up to some of that Lapua "Bi-Polar" ammo.
Sounds about right as a name for a .22 ammo.

Smooth

Cheers! Say, Rick "Sandbagger" Baum, where's YOUR target? The "Jaia effect" is legit. Iff'n they ain't mixing up orders and shipping you his ammo by mistake, jaia himself is sending up random, turbulent gusts of wind to mess with your shots

In order to keep my "Sandbagger" moniker, I'd better hold off a day or two don't you think?

At least I haven't turned in last month's target... I wonder how our 747 pilot is doing?

Excellent diagnosis of the syndrome.
Since taking up 200 yard rimfire I've become very aware of it's results on target.

...although, it might also be labeled the Winchester effect.

wize-adze

I'm having a good time learning how to deal with wind at 200 yards.
Also applying what I've learned from reloading centerfire to rimfire cartridges.
It's easy to spot the problems once you learn what to look for.
