That flat head takedown (stock to reviever) bolt chipped a part of its head off today. $#@%#$%#%#^% %#^ $%#^ !!!!!!

I used the proper sized screwdriver but 1/4 of the metal just chipped away. Ruger should toss that 1 cent bolt in the garbage and upgrade to at least a 2 cent bolt.

The part number is 12 on the Ruger diagram. My rifle likes that bolt tight.

Grrrrrrrrrrr.............

I'd suggest you go to the Weaponcraft Advertisement and check out Dakotans socket head bolts and "T" handle wrench to match. Will solve all your problems...

Ron,
Is this very common? I called a gun smith to see what he had and he said he stocked the Ruger take down bolt. I wasn't all that excited since I don't want to buy 1 and a bunch of spares!

I will fire off some email to Dakotan. Hopefully his bolt is stronger.

I purchased one of the Weaponcraft kits with the SS bolt and t-handle hex wrench. You will not be disappointed.
