It is a S&W model 63 4" barrel pre lock da/sa revolver. I saw it for sale on a forum, and I decided I had to jump on it because it is hard to find nice handguns here west of the iron curtain (California).

The 63 is a LIGHT revolver. It is not going to produce the accuracy of a 17 or 617. It is a fine field revolver.

I have a couple of the S&W model 62 revolvers. They are a great choice because they are small so they are easy to pack and they are also reasonably accurate. They are made out of quality stainless steel so they are very durable and will look good forever if you take care of it.
Congratulations on the fine revolver that you bought.

Good find! And D*** Straight! The 'CA Approved List' is a major pain in the arse!

From the USCR myself... but working a temp assignment in GA. While I'm here,
I've got BOTH eyes open for any 'pre-locks' worth taking back home with me!
