My hunting buddy shot one and it got hung up on the way down. Then he shot another one out of the same tree, it fell, landed on the first one, dislodged it and they both fell to the ground. We bought lottery tickets on the way home.

Silas, still laughing at that. Today I got three squirrels. The first a big male fox squirrel died on the limb where I shot him and his head hung down one side of the limb and his hind qtrs and tail hung on the other side. Walked directly underneath him, backed off a couple of yards, calculated the physics and one Fiocchi Subsonic Hollow Point knocked his head up into the air and he slid off the other side. Whew! I was relieved he fell down.

Took my TC R55 Sporter 17hm2 out for a walk in the timber. Went to a little patch I usually walk past, got this one first. It was all little greys so I couldn't get to motivated about shooting any more, someone walked in behind me and dumped one of them with what sounded like a 12 guage. I figured it was time to quit.

I'm sure glad you fellers are out about and getting some squirrels. I did get time to clean my WSM rifle and check the scope yesterday.

Our weather is going to get lousy later this week. I hope to get out hunting today after some winterizing chores.

Old Hickory, I can't wait for the cool weather. I need to get down there maybe in a couple weeks.

I took my first squirrel with a handgun last Saturday. Using a GP100 .22lr revolver. Only squirrel we saw all day. The idea was to get my son his first squirrel with his new 10/22 he got for his birthday. But I had the only chance, when he took off up the trail ahead of me. Head shot at about 10 yards. I felt like a kid again!

I know how asking these things goes on forums, but I will reluctantly ask here... If there's any Coloradans on here who want to give a lead on a hunting spot for squirrels/rabbits I would very much appreciate it. We were in San Isabel N.F. near Pueblo and that squirrel was the only thing we saw. Maybe my Dad was just better at it, but it sure seemed easier to find game when I was a kid. Took it for granted.

Thanks!

I finally got out yesterday and saw only one squirrel. The buck fox squirrel's head lined up in my scope and the squirrel went home with me. Wife said our town squirrels were not out, either.

Unlucky fox squirrel

Three greys and the worlds unluckiest fox squirrel. He was facing me at 50 yds and working a hole when I shot. I know I pulled the shot right when the trigger broke. At the exact second the trigger broke the squirrel looked up and to his left which put his head right in the way of a Winchester 42 gr ss/hp. Pulled the bullet out of his left ham. It had just enough energy left to penetrate the skin.

There is a breakfast squirrel I dropped at the same spot the fox was laying with a chest shot. Felt pretty good about hitting him at 50 yds.😁

Ok fellow squirrel chasers!! Convinced the guy that built my 10/22 squirrel toter that I posted a few posts back!!! He's gonna build some that hold at least two CZ mags instead of the 10 rd rotary mag that Ruger uses. It'll take a bit to perfect the design, but when its done, I'll have one and post pics and a link to get hold of him

If it'll hold two 5rd CZ mags, it should be able to hold pert' near any other manufacturers 5rd mags

Please dont blow his facebook or Insta page up until be has the prototype made and shipped to me to make sure they work!! Thanks
