Did Winchester make a magazine replacement that was used as a single feed on a 52 ? A friend of mine showed me a magazine ,all steel .The follower was spring loaded and tilted down at the rear . It wasnt marked that i could find .

Yes they did. The SS magazine would not only fit the M52, but the M56, M57, and all the M69's. There was a solid magazine made of aluminum or other metal, and there were the factory stamped mags that were marked the same as a regular magazine of the time period. They do work great too. Big Larry

Did it look like this one? The other type looks more like a typical stamped steel magazine, but is a single loader (SLED).

Winchester also offered a part that replaced the magazine guide turning the model 52 into a "fixed" single shot. I had a couple dozen of them but have sold out. I purchased them from a gunsmith when he went out of business.... here's some pics.

That's simply the E model ejector. Lot of people used them in the repeaters to make single shots. Seewin makes a good copy of it. The cutout on the back is relief for the screw that attaches the recoil lug on the E models that were so equipped.

My Dad had one of thesw with his 52B.

I have several of this type. All three are correctly marked for their proper time period. They do work great for bench shooting. Big Larry
