10/22 Takedown receiver

I came into a takedown barrel and BX Trigger. What options do I have to run a budget rifle build? I don't see many people selling factory receivers and I read that the Brownells doesn't fit aftermarket bolts reliably.

Brownells is the only one found. Dont know about the bolts but they are a good company and back their stuff. Make sure you look for coupons.

I got a Brownell's railed 10/22 receiver and required minor fitting for a JWH custom bolt

I wonder how the brownells td receiver will match up with my Kidd bolt. Can anyone point me in the direction of “fitting� it if it doesn’t?

It should fit fine. If you can’t get it in, read the posts about how the brownells internal bolt rail , on the inside of the receiver is likely the problem, and requires a little filing on corne at the end of the rail.

I just got a Brownells Railed Takedown Receiver and JWH Match bolt kit. I lightly polished the bolt with a dremel and some rouge, lubed it with the Slip 2000 that JWH sent, and barely slid it in the receiver. No Filing. It fits real tight but functions and I expect it to break in nicely. I worked it by hand about twenty or so times and has loosened up already.

I bought a standard stainless receiver from S&P to build my first 10/22. It was the best price I found and the KIDD barrel I added to it fit rights in.
