Here's a target pic to hold you over. Shot last week at 50 yards with a Vudoo Ravage, 20 inch Kukri bbl. . .

I am normally not that great a shot, so when all five bullet holes are touching . . . I am a happy man.
[Edit. . . I should add, when it's 5x5 groups with all the holes touching: it ain't all the shooter (in my case).]

That will be a strung out ordeal there considering I'm never home but wiil keep it updated when possible. I have a small selection of Eley, SK and Lapua along with a bunch of other non target grade ammo.

Thats great shooting there. My Vudoo gonna be like getting out of Caddy into a Ford Pinto compared to my RAR Target in a MDT LSS22.

Yeah. Totally different beasts. I have a Ruger American Rimfire, and it is a nice product at its price point. But the Vudoo is built like a bank vault. It is heavy and rides the bags well. And it is like night and day compared with the Ruger.

I feel I should mention that the above targets were not my first ones, though. It took a couple of trips to the range to start having the rifle performing that way. My search is now on for ammunition that can shoot like that without costing $20 per box. This is rimfire after all.

Also, certain ammunition -- like CCI-SV -- chambers poorly in the Vudoo because of its chamber tolerances. Seems to like stuff made by SK and Lapua though . . . And my Eley targets, to date, aren't as good as the ones with Midas + that I posted above. So manage your expectations accordingly. And while you're waiting for your rifle to arrive, lay in a brick each of R50, Center-X, and Eley Match so that you can play a bit when you go to the range and see what does best for you.

And, of course: photos!

I recommend the MontanaX cleaning rod. The Dewy or ProShot do not compare from my experiance.

My Sinister is currently in transit to be delivered next week. Weather permitting, I'll be testing it out next weekend. It's mainly going to be a squirrel getter for me if it's not too heavy. If it's too heavy for squirreling I may look for a more suitable stock for shooting of the bench or bipod.

I started out with a repeater built on a Stiller 2500XR, then sent a couple of CMP 40X & XB actions to have Mike Bush's repeater conversion done on both. The Stiller was sold not long after I'd gotten both the 40Xs up & running, and when the V-22s came out, I sold one of the 40Xs to get one. These have all been very accurate rifles, and I've had a ton of fun shooting them. But no doubt about it - the V-22s (I have three of them now - it's an addiction!) are just hard to beat. They're a notch or two smoother than either of my 40Xs, and sure aren't any less accurate. The photo shows the whole group, from the 40X in B&C stock that I sold, on down to the 40XB, original V-22, V-22 Kukri, and V-22 Ranch.

I'm waiting on a Krieger .22 blank for the Ranch - going to replace the ACE Ranch bbl with a slightly heavier & longer Krieger. Nothing wrong with the ACE bbl - it's very accurate. I wanted a longer bbl when I ordered the Ranch, but 18" was as long as they could go in that light contour. So, I'll wind up finishing a Krieger #4 sporter contour at 22", and should wind up with a rifle that's still fairly light & easy to handle, but will also balance a little better.

I've used Athlon Cronus 4.5-29x56 scopes on the heavier rifles, and went with a Midas TAC 6-24x50 on the Ranch. While the Cronus scopes have better optical quality, the Midas is no slouch in that department, and I love shooting behind it.

Flatlander thata a nice collection.

I did find an online store that has everything I want to try from SK, RWS, Eley and Lapua with 3-4 different lot numbers of Center X and 2 different lot numbers of Midas plus along with sample packs from some of the other companies. Prices $2-6 a box cheaper than Midway for Center X, Midas and Rws R50.

A good friend of mine has several vudoo and his love sk pistol match at 50 yard. Only 6.50 a box. At 100 and beyond he says midas plus or eley match.

I'm going to order around 30 different flavor's of SK, Eley, Lapua and RWS. I'm going to have a wide variety and will take some time to get them all done. I drive trucks over the road and me being single and no kids I come home when I want to. There's a guy on YouTube tested some of the new SK Long Range out of his Vudoo out to 300 yard's. He shoots SK Standard against the Long Range and from his rifle it does darn good out to 300. The video is "SK Long Range-Real world testing".

Scott,
I got 2-box samples of five lots of the new SK LR Match sometime back, and took one of the V-22s out to test it as soon as I had a morning with decent conditions. I shot with a Harris bipod & rear bag from 100yds on paper targets, and was really disappointed with the results out of the first four lots. However, the 10-shot group with the 5th lot was pretty impressive, with a vertical spread of only 1/2". It was so much better than the other four lots that I decided to order a case of it.

Over the noon hour, I started having second thoughts about the wisdom of buying 5000rds of that lot# based on one 10-shot group out of one rifle. So as soon as I got back to the farm after lunch, I got both V-22s out - as well as the chronograph - and set up a full size steel IPSC target at 210yds. Shot 10-shot strings of each lot through both rifles, with every shot fired passing over the skyscreens. By the time I'd fired 100rds (50 in each rifle), I'd convinced myself that buying the LR Match was the right thing to do.

Since then, I've shot both the SK LR Match & a lot of Lapua Center-X that had performed quite well out of the Krieger bbl on the original V-22 while being tested at the Lapua Testing Center, with some variation in results. The first couple of times, the SK out-shot Lapua Center-X at 210yds, but the last time I tested them side-by-side, the Lapua was slightly better. At any rate, at 75% of the price of the Center-X, LR Match is performing quite well.

Flatlander thanks for all the info. It's funny how certain lots perform differently and one would think they would all perform the same. I'm having a hard time with this one but I'm thinking about a box of Lapua X-act$24 a box, but a top quality rifle deserves a taste of top quality ammo occasionally..

I haven't ordered any tenex or even eley match for my hall action rifle. I know the chambe reamer used is a eley black box favorite, but at 15 bucks a box i have a problem with that. Rimfire is fun to shooti dont want to take away my fun by being ammo poor. I hardly shoot my centerfires cause it 1.50 a shot.i know if i shoot the high end stuff it is all i will want to shoot.
