All that glitters is not gold. I truly don't know. I suspect they are silver before

they get the gold colored anodizing. My copy has the gold version, but I have

had it since March of last year. I suspect the gold triggers will be no

more, as it is another cost, though small. Maybe they are being phased out.

Now that the magazine articles have boosted the Zephyr 2 sales, let's

hope the quality doesn't slide. The next batch of 500 is on the way,

but they will have to clear customs. I don't know how far out they are

time wise, and since the last batch sold out in about a day and a half,

I suspect the prices will rise from our favorite on line sellers.

When you get the notice, if you are on a restock list, grab it......don't

take time to go to the deli like I did. I wanted another, but I waited

too long. I paid a premium for my Steyr Zephyr 2 to get nice wood, but since

the cost has gone up now, I paid no more than other people.

Very nice balance, super trigger, non-typical styling, and my son

wanting to take my rifle for a shooter makes me have a need

for another rifle. He can't wait !

I have had my Zepher II's for about 9 months and both have the gold anodized triggers. I have not seen any on the shelf for a long time, thus not sure what the current ones have. I recall asking the Customer Support about action screw torque settings however, it appears that I did not save that email or that could have been part of a phone conversation I had with them. As I recall I used my torque wrench and walked it up until I found what they were set at the factory and that was @ 20" lbs. so that is where I have been running both of mine. I have not done any testing related to action screw settings.
