Here is my latest 17 Mach2!!!

Here is my latest 17 Mach2!!! It's a Hopkins & Allen 922 and it is a true falling block, not a pivoting block as in the Stevens Favorite. Just finished carving out the butt stock. I think I could have done better but I don't think I am goint to whittle out another one. Too time consuming. Still need to final fit the butt stock to the receiver, and sand and finish both the butt and fore stocks.

God Bless, Frank.

Frank, that is going to be a very nice rifle. The stock looks like it is going to be beautiful when it is finished out.

GRG and GMD, I have...

GRG and GMD, I have the same issue with my eyes. Here is my solution!!! It is really nice that the Favorite that I got had the half-round/half octagonal barrel, makes putting a scope base pretty simple!!!

I think that old steel tube 4x12 AO El Paso made Weaver looks pretty good sitting on that rifle. I'm hoping that this H&A 922 looks and shoots as good as the 1894 Favorites does!!!
God Bless, Frank

That H&A is coming along very nicely tfrank, I may have to scope it down the road but the mounts for the Low Wall just don't appeal to me, but eventually I'll likely have to.

FWIW talked with Whistlepig yesterday about my boys 22lr barrel and inquired about a 17mach2 for the RPR and he said that was going to be happening also. No time frame but I thought some might like to know

This thread is bringing back memories. I went through a phase with the 17M2 and went through probably 10 or more rifles chambered for it. Remington 504, Marlin 917, CZ 453, Thompson Center semi-auto, 2 Ruger 77/17's, Sako Quad. Ok, maybe not 10, but close. The only one I have left is the barrel for my Sako Quad in that caliber. The one I would really like to have back is the CZ 453 American, that was one sweet rifle.

That would look good with a Malcolm scope.

Wow! you had a 453 in 17hm2? Why did you sell it?? They are a pretty hard rifle to find. Have never seen a 453 varmint in 17hm2 --think that one is harder to find yet. I have seen 1 other 453 American in 17hm2 other than the one i own . I passed on it as it was not up to my standards in the condition department. Even tho I like my 453 I must say the New York Kimber Classic Varmint in 17HM2 is my favorite only because it is a little more refined. I like that rifle so much I have 2 of them. Have a Cooper LTV in 17hm2 it would be heck of a good short range prairie dog rifle. Have a Anschutz 1502 beaver tail heavy barrel. That one also would be a short range prairie dog rifle. That one is just too heavy to tote very far. If a 453 varmint in 17hm2 ever comes my way to buy I would probably buy it.

Same shop had its twin in .17hmr, just didn't hold the same attraction as the .17m2 to me at least.
Gerald---That is a very elegant rifle. Really a sweet heart of a rifle.

That is an excellent piece. Too bad my chances of ever finding one are probably zero. Would love to have one of those someday. I really like CZ's and that has been my focus for my last couple of purchases but something like that would have me reaching for my wallet.

Thumbs up GMD 1950...

GMD 1950 I copied both of the pictures of your rifle. I really like the lines of your stock. Those pictures give me ideas!!!
God Bless, Frank.

Oh, you just added one to my list that I had, a New York Kimber Classic Varmint. It probably was the most accurate of all that I owned, but it had to be kept clean or accuracy would drop off quickly.
