Wind wasn't too bad today, just hot and muggy (heat index around 105). Not my best scores today but a good match nonetheless.

Match #1, Club practice, NRA Air Rifle resettables, yards
Date: 7-5-17

Round #1, Target:
Class: AAA
Anschutz 2002 SuperAir
JSB Diablo Exact RS (7.33) pellets
Weaver V-16 @ 16X

... well, sort of. My Target rifle stopped functioning after the first 15 shots (on Rams, I think) and had to switch to my TX200 for the rest of the match.

Chickens - 8
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 4
Rams - 6
TOTAL - 25

Round #2, Sporter:
Class: AAA
Air Arms TX200 Mk-III
Weaver V-24 @ 24X
Air Arms Field Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 8
Pigs - 6
Turkeys - 5
Rams - 8
TOTAL - 27

We were running two relays so we could practice with a spotter, therefor we only got two matches done.

Now I have to figure out what is going on with my Anschutz. It seems to be the main valve is stuck open but I had just replaced it a few months ago. Hopefully it's something minor like debris in the valve and I can get this thing back up and running in short order. Crap!

Club match, NRA steel, meters
Date: 7-8-17
Anschutz 1710
Weaver T-24
SK Standard Plus

Match #1, Standard Rifle
Class: AA

Chickens - 5
Pigs - 5
Turkeys - 5
Rams - 0
TOTAL - 15

I started on Rams and couldn't connect to save my life, and the rest of the match wasn't that much better. This score really hurt because I knew it wasn't the rifle's fault, there was almost no wind, it was just me failing to hit the targets.

Match #2, Hunter Rifle
Class: AAA

Chickens - 8
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 5
Rams - 6
TOTAL - 26

Started on Turkeys and managed a much better score through sheer determination.

Glad to have that match behind me.

My Target rifle is still out of commission so I shot all three practice rounds with my TX 200.

Almost no wind made for great conditions for the Target rifles. I believe this is the best score I've ever gotten with my target rifle in a match (practice or otherwise).

Round #2, Sporter:
Class: AAA
Air Arms TX200 Mk-III
Weaver V-24 @ 24X
Air Arms Field Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 6
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 7
Rams - 5
TOTAL - 27

Took me a bit to get re-atuned to the TX200 then got in the groove.

Round #3, Open:
Class: AAA
Used my TX200 again.

Chickens - 7
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 5
Rams - 6
TOTAL - 27

Three shots between the legs on Rams gets old pretty quick.

Notice on all three matches that I got 9 pigs but just couldn't get the ten in a row. Oh well, better luck next time I guess.

Ten Pigs is great and a 27 total is a good score for me in smallbore. Still slightly upset that I was one point shy of what would have been my first AAA score.

Match #2, Hunter Rifle
Class: AAA

Chickens - 6
Pigs - 8
Turkeys - 6
Rams - 5
TOTAL - 25

Some storm clouds were moving into the area and started to kick up the wind a little bit. Luckily we managed to finish the match, clean up the range, and get inside for lunch before the rains hit.

A storm cell was moving through the area so winds were switching all over the place. It started raining during the third round which calmed down the wind a bit.

Round #1, Sporter:
Class: AAA
Air Arms TX200 Mk-III
Weaver V-24 @ 24X

The switching winds were really messing with everyone this round.

We had seven guys show up which is pretty good for an after-work practice session.
