Well wishes for your eye surgery Bob. That's a lot of years to not miss an entry, but we understand. If you have to shoot lefty during recovery, I will join you so we have a challenge. Besides, my scores probably can't go down much so at least I'll have a chance!

********** 25 YD SCOPE ENTRY ********* 8/31/2021

SCORE: 464-11X
NAME: Purple Bikerr(62)
LOCATION: Winnequah Gun Club ; Lodi, Wis.
GUN: CZ 452 STYLE
GUN SETUP: __x__Scope ___Irons ___Sling
AMMO: Aguila SEHV
INDIV TGTS: 93-2x, 96-3x, 88-3x, 93-1x, 94-2x

I shot 2 sets today. 1st set was a 464-10x. Weather was perfect, high overcast with light and variable wind, mid 70's. I did shoot a set last week. My worst score ever, my a mile....441-3x. The mid 90's temps, and humidity just as bad may have affected my score.

Bob, you may be down to one good eye, but you still caught a 50 yard report that I forgot to label as an entry.

If you end up shooting left handed, let us know. I'll join you for a set, since you've done the work keeping this thing going.

But be warned. My offhand game is weak, so maybe the problem is that I'm a natural lefty and never knew it! If only that was the issue... but nah

No magic there Zuki, i review all posts for the month and sort out the highes scores, so no real need to ever 'mark as entry'. Many times i see a declared entry but then find an earlier post with a higher score he forgot about. I always sort to the higher score for the scoreboards.

To that end, i will once again ask EVERYONE to please use the standard entry form per the Rules section...
and ESPECIALLY to use the exact score format i have so many times requested. When a score is not in the same format, it does not auto-sort in my spreadsheets, so i have to re-do it by hand by editing the score format. That means i can make a mistake. not good, and not efficient use of my time.

So, once more here is the score format i need to get the boards up quickly with no mistakes:
458-0X That's score, no space, dash, no space, x-count, no space, capital X

If an entry looks like any of the below, i need to modify it for it to work in the spreadsheets:
458 0X
458-0x
458

All the best,
Bob4BVM

Well this is pretty amazing to me, shot with my normal right-handed position, with my bad right eye yet...
My eye surgery is not until early October, but i was starved for some shooting since i missed last month. Yesterday the boys came over to sight in their elk rifles and i tried a few shots with the scoped 30-06. THe scope did help me to at least see the targets in a blurry fashion. So today i figured what the heck i should give the 22 a try.
THe scope crosshairs were just a blur, so i did my best to just center the black bull in the field of view, which is pretty narrow at 32X. I may have just learned something new... usually i concentrate on the crosshair in scoped shooting, per conventional wisdom. THis was more like shooting iron where you concentrate on the front sight ring and center the bull in the aperture.

Anyway my first bull had seven tens using that wierd method with the scope ! It went down hill from there as my eye tired out quicker and quicker with each successive shot. By the last 2 bulls it was a struggle to get the shot off in the first few seconds before my eye just blurred out completely. Concetrating more on a good followthru had alot to do with making this score as well. But the sight picture thing was definitely a strange thing, but it did work !

I did try the irons gun again after this, but it is a total lost cause for now. Hoping the eye Dr can get that back for me !

Cheers,
Bob

Saturday Iron Sight Practice 9/18/2021
Score: 479-9X
Name: 72coupe/Roy Woodman
Location: Wichita Falls, Tx
Gun: RPRR
Set up: Aperture sights
Ammo: RWS Special Match
Individual Target Scores: 97-1X, 95-2X, 94-2X, 98-2X, 95-2X, one 7 and one 8.
Notes: Been a while since I have been out to shoot and it was a really nice morning for it. Wind 12 mph but not a factor, 85 with high humidity and bright sunlight. My warm up target was a 470 with 12X making me think I could shoot a better score than I have shot in several months. I had a really good hold this morning but on the first 3 targets I had 2 eights on each.

97 on your first target is a bit of pressure. That's a lot of consistency target to target too. Well Done.

On Thursday, I shot a 464-7X, then a 464-8x. From down here, you look like you have a viable solution for the moment. You'll be a terror after the fix.

Thanks guys! I wanted to go back out today to see if my hold was still good but I have to do the 100 hour service on my John Deere lawn mower.
